Council Meetings
Regular Council Meetings
Regular Council Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month (except during the month of August) in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (45 View Royal Avenue).
View Royal's Procedure Bylaw [PDF - 97 KB] regulates the proceedings of Council with respect to meeting procedures and is used as a reference document.
Council conducts the majority of its business at Regular Council meetings which are open to the public. For a schedule of 2013 Council meetings, please click here [PDF - 150 KB].
In-Camera Meetings
In-camera meetings are generally held after Regular Council meetings. In-camera meetings are closed to the public and are focused on property transactions, personnel matters and legal issues.
Public Hearings
Amendments to the Zoning Bylaw and Official Community Plan are required to be considered at Public Hearings which are scheduled as necessary, usually on Tuesday evenings.
Special Council Meetings
Special Council meetings are occasionally scheduled as the need arises. Special Council meetings deal with the same type of content as Regular Council meetings and are distinguished simply by being held on an unscheduled date.
Notice for Meetings
Notice of meetings is posted on the public notice board outside the Town Hall and on the Town's website.
