At the meeting on November 7, Council discussed the newly introduced Province of British Columbia's Bill 44-2023.

The new legislation, if passed, will override municipal zoning requirements and eliminate the need for public hearings for increased density on residential lots. Bill 44-2023 has been brought forward by the Province without the engagement of residents or local government.

In response, Council invites you to attend an upcoming public meeting to participate in discussion and give your feedback regarding Bill 44-2023.

Meeting Details
Date: Thursday, November 23, 2023
Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location:

Victoria Scottish Community Centre

1803 Admirals Road

"We are conducting this meeting to inform our residents of the potential effect of this legislation on our Town because the Provincial Government has elected to not engage the public or municipalities on significant changes to land use and zoning that will proceed in the future without their input. We want to hear from our residents on the effect of this legislation on their future." - Mayor Tobias
