Protective Services

Operating out of the Public Safety Building (333 Island Highway), the Protective Services Department includes service and responses to:

  • Fire suppression
  • Fire prevention
  • Fire investigations
  • Auto extrication
  • Emergency medical aid
  • Disaster response
  • Non-emergency public assistance
  • Public education
  • Fire Hall tours
  • Limited hazardous materials
  • Emergency Programs: Emergency Support Services (ESS) and Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Programs (NEPP).

The Protective Services Department also includes Bylaw Enforcement Services, which deals with bylaw issues such as parking, noise, truck route, unsightly premises and illegal dumping.
