Blasting at CFB Esquimalt - Aug 17-Oct 1

Residents in the vicinity of CFB Esquimalt may hear noise as a result of controlled blasting beginning August 17, 2018. Blasting will occur once a week, 7:00pm to 10:00 p.m. and is expected to continue until approximately October 1, 2018.
This work must be conducted during high tide to support environmental mitigation efforts at CFB Esquimalt.
It will be limited to a controlled site and poses no danger to neighbouring residents. Pre-blast signals (12 short whistles) followed by the All-Clear (5 second whistle) will likely be the only audible noise for residents as blasting activities are small in scale, very limited in scope, and conducted by experts with extensive experience.
