View Royal to Participate in BC ShakeOut Earthquake Drill

At 10:17am on October 17, 2019, Town of View Royal staff and residents will join thousands of British Columbians to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” for The Great British Columbia ShakeOut; the largest earthquake drill in BC history! Everyone is encouraged to participate in the drill wherever you are at 10:17am on 10/17/2019! The ShakeOut is our chance to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become prepared.

As part of this exercise, the Town will be testing the View Royal Public Alert Notification System (PANS). Residents who have registered for this service may receive notifications between 10:00am-12:00pm during this testing.

In the case of a real public safety incident (i.e. earthquake, wildfire, tsunami alert, evacuation notice), PANS will be used to deliver critical alerts to residents who have registered.

This information can help you and your family know what to do, where to go, and what to expect. Interested in signing up for the View Royal Public Alert Notification System? Click here to register.
