Message from View Royal Fire: Halloween Fireworks

With the continued extreme drought conditions being experienced on the South Island, along with Environment Canada’s forecast for the extended dry weather, it is expected that the extreme/high wildfire conditions will remain in effect.

As the discharge of fireworks in extreme/high wildfire conditions is considered a hazardous activity and constitutes a significant risk to public safety and property, the View Royal Fire Department is advising that the use of fireworks on October 31, 2022 will be prohibited if continued environmental conditions remain in effect.

At this time the Town of View Royal will not be issuing any firework permits for October 31, 2022 until the environmental conditions have been re-assessed and the municipality determines that the risk to public safety is reduced.
