Potential Canada Post Strike: Prepare Now
May 16, 2025
Labour negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are ongoing, and a strike or service disruption could begin as early as May 22, 2025.
While an agreement may still be reached, the Town of View Royal is encouraging residents to plan ahead in case of delays in mail delivery. A strike could affect the timely arrival of property tax notices and the ability to make payments by mail.
To avoid late penalties, please consider using one of the following alternative payment methods:
- Online or telephone banking via your financial institution
- In person at Town Hall (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, excluding holidays)
- Drop slot at the front entrance of Town Hall (cheques only, no cash)
Please note: Payments must be received by the Town no later than July 2, 2025. A 10% penalty will apply to all payments received after July 2, regardless of the reason.
We encourage you to register for Online Services, where you can:
- View your property tax balance and billing history
- Confirm your Home Owner Grant status
- Access assessment and tax information for any property in View Royal
Some features require details from your property tax notice to register.
