Town of View Royal Prepares to Launch Next Phase of Official Community Plan Engagement: Policy Review

The Town of View Royal is continuing work on View Royal 2050: Our Future View, the update to the community’s Official Community Plan (OCP). The OCP is the Town’s long-term blueprint that guides decisions about land use, housing, transportation, parks, the environment, and more.

Over the past year, we’ve asked for your input to help shape the community’s vision and explore future growth opportunities. Now, we’re moving into the next phase of engagement, focused on reviewing summary statements of the draft objectives and key new policy directions that will guide how View Royal grows and changes over the next 20 years.

Join us at one of two come-and-go open houses to review new policies, ask questions, and share your thoughts.

Come-and-go Open Houses

Date: Saturday, November 8
Time: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
Location: Strawberry Vale Community Hall (11 High Street)

Date: Thursday, November 13
Time: 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Location: View Royal Town Hall (45 View Royal Avenue)

You can also take part in the online Official Community Plan Policy Review Survey, available on Engage View Royal from November 8 to 30. The survey is an opportunity to review proposed policy directions for key topics like housing, parks, transportation, the environment, and more.

At the same time, engagement continues for the Western Gateway Community Corridor, where the Town is seeking feedback on three potential land use scenarios for this important area along Island Highway. If you haven’t yet shared your input, please visit Engage View Royal before the survey closes at the end of the day on November 7.

Your participation helps shape how View Royal evolves as a vibrant, connected, and sustainable community for current and future generations.

Why Your Input Matters

The OCP is a guiding document that helps shape the long-term vision for View Royal. It influences decisions on land use, transportation, parks, the environment, and more. The Town is committed to ensuring that community voices are reflected in this important update.
