Nomination Period Now Open for the 2026 General Local Election

The nomination period is now open for individuals interested in running for Mayor or Councillor in the Town of View Royal’s 2026 General Local Election.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, eligible voters will elect:

  • One (1) Mayor
  • Six (6) Councillors

Voters will also elect School Trustees for either School District No. 61 or School District No. 62, depending on where they live.

Nomination Period

Nomination documents can be submitted beginning September 1 at 9:00am and must be received by September 11 at 4:00pm.

Nomination packages can be downloaded from the Information for Candidates webpage or picked up at View Royal Town Hall (45 View Royal Avenue).

Town Hall Hours

  • Until September 4: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Beginning September 8: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
