Can I post election signage in View Royal?
Election signage is regulated by the Town’s bylaws to help maintain public safety, reduce visual clutter, and limit environmental impacts. These regulations apply to all elections—municipal, provincial, and federal.
Key Guidelines:
- Election signs are not permitted on public property, including roadsides, medians, parks, and other land owned or maintained by the Town.
- Signs may be placed on private property with the permission of the property owner. Candidates and campaign teams are reminded to confirm property boundaries before placing signage.
- All election signs must be removed within 48 hours after the close of voting.
For more details, please refer to the Town’s Election Procedures Bylaw No. 989, 2018.
Additional information about the Town’s elections can be found in Automated Voting Counting System Authorization and Procedure Bylaw No. 480, 2002.
