Development Variance Permits

A Development Variance Permit (DVP) is used to alter or vary a regulation set out in a development bylaw, such as zoning requirements in the Land Use Bylaw. The most common types of variances are for setbacks, height and parking. A DVP may not be used to alter the density or land use on a property; in this situation a rezoning application is required.

Development Variance Permit Application

When your approved Development Permit needs to be changed or an element of your plan (other than density or use) doesn't meet the zoning requirements, you will need to apply for a Development Variance Permit.
