Development Variance Permits
A Development Variance Permit (DVP) is used to alter or vary a regulation set out in a development bylaw such as zoning requirements in the Land Use Bylaw. The most common types of variances are for setbacks, height and parking. A DVP may not be used to alter the density or land use on a site. In this situation, a rezoning application is required.
