Property Information Requests

Most property information, such as building information, surveys, building permits, suite permits, can be obtained by completing a Property Information Request.

For each request, there may be fees associated that are billed by staff time and number of copies requested. The cost for each request will vary depending on the volume of records and amount of staff time for retrieval and preparation of records.

Note: requests for building plans, lot survey plans, or other property records containing personal information may require a Freedom of Information Request due to copyright or privacy restrictions.

Buying or Selling a Property?

The most common requests are from potential owners or real estate agents trying to collect information on properties for sale such as the age of a home, building permit history, surveys, development potential or perhaps if it has a legal suite. A request for this information may be obtained by completing a Property Information Request Application [PDF - 66 KB]. Please note a Consent to Release Property Information Form [PDF - 42 KB] may also be required to complete the request.

Completed forms can be submitted:

Looking for House or Building Plans?

Requests for house plans, building plans, and lot survey plans require a Freedom of Information Request due to copyright laws. For more information on Freedom of Information Requests, click here.

Looking for Zoning Information?

Zoning information for a property can be found by first looking on the Zoning Map [PDF - 6.9 MB] to identify what zone the property is in. Once you have identified the zone for the property, you can look at the Zoning Bylaw to see what specific rules are required in that zone.
