What are Town Hall's hours of operation?

I cannot make it to Town Hall when it is open. How can I make a payment to the Town?

If you wish to drop a payment off while the Town Hall is closed, feel free to drop it off in an envelope in the drop box slot located at the left side of the main Town Hall doors. Alternatively, some payments such as property taxes and sewage user fees may be made directly at your banking institution or through their online services. Please note that payments for licences, permits and permit application fees must be made in person at the Town Hall, located at 45 View Royal Avenue.

When are Council and Committee of the Whole meetings held?

Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, 45 View Royal Avenue. Council meetings begin at 7:00pm and are open to the public.

Committee of the Whole meetings occur on the second Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers at the Town Hall, 45 View Royal Avenue. Committee of the Whole meetings are separated into two sessions. The afternoon session begins at 3:30pm and the evening session begins at 7:00pm.

I have an issue that I would like to bring before Council. How do I do that?

If you have an issue you wish to be considered by Town Council, submit a letter Attn: Mayor and Council, outlining your concerns:

Town staff will advise you when the item is scheduled to appear on a meeting agenda.

Please note, you do not need to be present at the Council meeting for Council to consider your issue. However, should you wish to supplement your letter by making a verbal presentation at the Council meeting, please follow the following procedure for requests to "appear as a delegation".

Individuals wishing to "appear as a delegation" should send a letter of request (or complete the attached form) providing sufficient detail to describe the topic, the presenters and meeting date they wish to appear. The letter/completed form should be submitted to the Clerk by 11:00 a.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting. This procedure provides Council an opportunity to prepare, resulting in a prompt and informed response.

Please be advised that your name and address on written submissions or from your verbal comments will be included in the permanent public Council meeting minutes.

The Town has a population of approximately 11,575.

How large in area is View Royal?

The Town of View Royal covers approximately 16.2 square kilometres with a perimeter boundary of 24.6 kilometres. The municipality encompasses McKenzie, Pike, Prior and Thetis Lakes and portions of Esquimalt Harbour and Portage Inlet.
