note: Sewer utility and property tax fees cannot be paid with credit cards. Parking tickets and accounts receivable invoices cannot be paid using online/telephone banking. 

How to Make a Payment

In Person

Business hours are Monday to Friday (excluding statuatory holidays):

  • 8:30am to 4:30pm (September - June) or
  • 8:00am to 4:00pm (July - August)

Payment Drop Box

A payment drop slot is located to the left of the front doors of Town Hall at 45 View Royal Avenue.
Please place your cheque* and supporting documents in an envelope and push through the slot.
Payments are processed promptly each morning during business hours.

By Mail

The Town does not automatically issue a receipt for mailed in payments. If a receipt is required, your cancelled cheque (once processed by your banking institution) can act as a receipt or you can contact the Finance Department for assistance.

Accepted Forms of Payment

Online/Telephone Banking

Online and telephone banking can be used to make payments to the Town for property taxes and sewer utility payments only. Please allow sufficient time for electronic delivery of your payment and consider your bank’s cutoff times as your payment must be processed with a payment initiation date on or before the due date.

Please be sure to select the correct vendor for the type of payment you want to make:

  • For Property Taxes: please ensure you select "View Royal (Town of) Tax or Taxes"
    Your account number is the last eight (8) digits of your roll number (without the decimal) shown on the top right corner of your property tax notice.
  • For Sewer Utility: please ensure you select "View Royal (Town of) - Utilities".  This will ensure that your payment is applied to your utility invoice rather than your property tax account.  Your sewer utility account number is the 14 digit account number on the top left of your sewer utility invoice beginning with '000'.

Cash or Debit Card

Cheques and Post-Dated Cheques

Please make cheques payable to Town of View Royal. 

You can pay your parking tickets, property taxes and sewer utilities invoices with a cheque post-dated to the due date. This allows Town staff time to check your payment and to contact you prior to the due date if there are any problems or questions. We deposit your post-dated payment to the bank on the cheque date. The Town accepts personalized cheques and bank drafts. 

Credit Card

The Town accepts VISA or Mastercard as payment for some fees and services, including parking tickets and accounts receivable invoices less than $2,500. Sewer utility and property tax fees cannot be paid with credit cards.

To pay online for an accounts receivable invoice (less than $2,500) or a parking ticket by Visa or Mastercard, email the Finance Department at finance@viewroyal.ca with:

  • Your AR Invoice number or Municipal Ticket Information number
  • The amount of your invoice or ticket

The Finance Department will email you a secure payment link. This option is only available for accounts receivable invoices (less than $2,500) and parking tickets.
