On this page you will find status updates on Town Hall, Town services, meetings, parks and playgrounds, and other information related to COVID-19.


Town Hall

Town Hall is open to the public with COVID-19 safety measures in place.

These measures include: 

  • Masks are optional for all visitors to Town Hall and for staff in common areas;
  • Social distancing encouraged with physical separation indicators marked on the floor;
  • Barrier at the front counter;
  • Online appointment booking available;
  • Hand sanitizer station upon entry;
  • Asking ill guests and employees to stay home;
  • Increased disinfecting and cleaning;
  • Asking those who have COVID-19 or who are in contact with someone who has COVID-19 to stay home.

Although not required, our online bookings application is available if you would like to schedule an appointment to visit Town Hall. 

As an alternative to an in-person visit to Town Hall, there are options for the public to conduct Town business online or via phone.

Yard and Garden Waste 

The Town requests that residents not drop off material at either site after hours or conduct illegal dumping in parks or boulevards. The public is encouraged to consider composting at home and is reminded that outdoor burning is prohibited. More information on composting can be found at compost.bc.ca.

Council Meetings & Public Hearings

View Royal Council Chambers is open for the public to attend meetings in-person or virtually via Live Webcast

  • Council meetings take place on the regularly scheduled Council meeting dates set for the first and third Tuesday of each month.   
  • Committee of the Whole meetings take place on the regularly scheduled Committee of the Whole meeting dates set for the second Tuesday of each month.
  • Public Hearings are scheduled as necessary and typically occur on Tuesday evenings.

Parks, Trails & Playgrounds

All parks, trails and playgrounds in View Royal are open. View Royal encourages those using parks and playgrounds to:

  • practice safe physical distancing;
  • wash your hands before and after using the play area;
  • come back later if the area seems too busy;
  • limit your time if others are waiting; and
  • stay home if you feel sick.
