Wildfires in the province are growing in frequency, scale, and severity. In 2023, B.C. experienced 2,295 wildfires with 2,896,200 hectares burned. 9 in 10 British Columbians believe that wildfires are one of the most important issues facing B.C. With this, wildfire prevention is a shared responsibility.
