2024 Property Taxes

View Royal, BC - The 2024 property tax notices have been mailed out to property owners in View Royal. Property taxes are due by Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Payment Options

There are many payment options available:

  • Online banking: use your financial institution's online banking system to pay. Please allow sufficient time for electronic delivery of your payment and consider your bank’s cutoff time to ensure payment is received by the due date. Select "View Royal (Town of) Tax or Taxes". Your account number is the last eight (8) digits of your roll number (without the decimal) shown on the top right corner of your property tax notice.
  • By mail: Mail your cheque to Town of View Royal, 45 View Royal Avenue, Victoria, BC, V9B 1A6. Please make cheques payable to Town of View Royal. Payment must be received by July 2, 2024, to avoid penalty.
  • Town Hall drop slot: Located to the left of the front doors of Town Hall at 45 View Royal Avenue. Please place your cheque and supporting documents in an envelope and push through the slot.
  • In person: View Royal Town Hall at 45 View Royal Avenue, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. We accept cash, debit cards and cheques for payment. Note: credit cards are not accepted for property taxes.

Property owners who have not received their tax notice by the second week of June should contact the Finance Department at finance@viewroyal.ca or 250-708-2270. As of 12:01am, July 3, 2024, any unpaid 2024 property taxes or unclaimed 2024 Home Owner Grants will have a 10% penalty added to the outstanding balance. 

Claim Your Home Owner Grant

A reminder to claim your home owner grant; property owners must apply every year.

Apply for your grant with the Province online at gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or by phone at 1-888-355-2700. To avoid penalties and interest, be sure to apply before the tax due date.
