Greater Victoria Firefighters Support Life-Saving Neonatal Equipment at VGH
June 20, 2025
On June 18, firefighters from across Greater Victoria, including View Royal Fire Rescue, came together to support the region’s tiniest and most vulnerable patients with a significant donation to Victoria General Hospital (VGH).
A $37,000 contribution was made toward the purchase of a Giraffe OmniBed Carestation, a state-of-the-art neonatal bed that creates a womb-like environment for premature and critically ill newborns in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The donation is part of a 10-year, $250,000 pledge by the Professional Firefighters of Greater Victoria, which includes the charitable foundations of the Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt and Oak Bay fire departments.
The Town of View Royal is proud to support and recognize the generosity of our local firefighters, whose commitment to health and safety extends well beyond emergency response. Their continued contributions help ensure that world-class care is available for families when they need it most.
