Council Meeting Information

All meetings are held in person in Council Chambers as well as virtually via Live Webcast
Although not required, wearing a mask is recommended when attending meetings in person.

Council & Committee of the Whole Meetings

Town of View Royal Council meets at 7:00pm the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

Town of View Royal Committee of the Whole meets the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 3:30pm; the evening session of the meeting begins at 7:00pm.

Agendas are typically posted on the Friday prior to the meeting; draft minutes are posted in a timely manner to assist in the sharing of information from regular meetings.

View Royal's Procedure Bylaw [PDF - 97 KB] regulates the proceedings of Council with respect to meeting procedures and is used as a reference document.

Council conducts the majority of its business at Council and Committee of the Whole meetings which are open to the public. 

Special Council Meetings

Special Council meetings are occasionally scheduled as the need arises. Special Council meetings deal with the same type of content as regular Council meetings and are distinguished simply by being held on an unscheduled date.

In-Camera Meetings

In-camera meetings are generally held after regular Council meetings. In-camera meetings are closed to the public and are focused on property transactions, personnel matters and/or legal issues.

Public Hearings

Amendments to the Zoning Bylaw and Official Community Plan are required to be considered at Public Hearings which are scheduled as necessary, usually on Tuesday evenings.

Notice of Meetings

Notice of meetings are posted on the public notice board outside the Town Hall and on the Town's website.
