Recognizing Councillor Rogers for 30 Years of Service

During the September 22 Council meeting, Mayor Tobias presented Councillor John Rogers with a plaque recognizing his 30 years of dedicated service to the Town of View Royal.
Since first being elected to Council in 1996, John has served as a View Royal councillor for 3 decades. Over the years, he has contributed to a wide range of local and regional matters, including transportation, water services, parks and environmental initiatives. He has also represented the Town on several regional commissions and organizations, including the Capital Regional District’s Regional Water Supply Commission and the Juan de Fuca Water Distribution Commission. In 2022, John was awarded the Union of BC Municipalities 25-Year Long Service Award.
John has been a long-time advocate for View Royal and its neighbourhoods, and has brought his knowledge of the community, collaborative approach and commitment to public service to his work on Council. His connection to View Royal extends beyond the Council table, with many years of involvement in community and environmental organizations.
As John prepares to leave Council following 30 years of service, the Town extends its sincere thanks for his many contributions to View Royal and the community he has proudly served.
